I joined the Rochester REI Club because of the wealth of information and the network of people and resources there. It is great to have a group of people who share the same thought, dreams and goals as I do. Lots of people talk about investing in Real Estate but MANY do not take that next step to do it. I am glad I joined REIA that way at least once a month I get to talk with others that are doing what I am doing and going thru the same things I am.

I would like to see if we could get more speakers/investors from other areas talking about what they do. I would also like to learn more about buying Tax/Bank/Individual foreclosure's with a hand out that shows the steps! Any handouts are great!

Dear TJ:

Thank you for asking me to share on the panel with regard to a business plan. Unfortunately, I will not be able to help you with this, as I am extremely busy and just don't have the extra time to prepare.

I think the meetings are great! I find them to be very informative on a variety of different subjects all relative to investments. I also feel that anyone who attends these monthly meetings will gain the knowledge and connections they need to run a successful business.

If I was not going to the Rochester REI ClubI would of not bought my first (two)
multi- families. It was because of you, TJ and the connections you had me talk to that I was able to negotiate a 80 20 contract and get into the property with no money down.

I always learn something at every meeting, either from the presentation or from networking. Some key information includes:

1. Using your IRA for real estate. I did open an account with Entrust and made a real estate investment.
2. Learned about LLCs and attended Leon's course.
3. Learned details and rules for 1031 exchanges.
4. Scott did an excellent presentation on lease/purchase options

I believe the current meeting format is good. As for future topics I would like to see:
- Essential lease clauses
- Screening tenants
- Maximizing tax deductions for rental real estate
- Best opportunities/growth areas for real estate investment in Rochester and western New York
- Researching real estate on the internet. A number of new useful websites have popped up.

I am a Real Estate Broker/Owner and a new member to this chapter. I have been a member at other RE investor organizations and this is the most professional group I have seen. Good solid contractors who are well respected in their respective disciplines. A really good mix of vendors who are excited about the group and are ready and willing to help others in any way they can.

I enjoy the valuable learning and educational information I have already acquired from the club. The information I learn here helps me in my day-to-day business and additionally helps me understand what the investor is looking for in properties and services. The group also helps me with vendor referrals for my out of town investors who are looking for good contacts for their investment properties.
